Dr. Erin Milhem is a licensed clinical psychologist, who specializes in assessment and intervention for children, young adults, and families affected by neurodevelopmental disabilities (Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, learning disabilities, executive functioning challenges, and cognitive impairments) and related challenges (anxiety and depression). Dr. Milhem graduated from the University of Washington in 2006, earning a Bachelors of Art in both Psychology and Interdisciplinary Visual Arts. She attended Antioch University Seattle, where she completed her doctorate, completing concentrations in both Art Therapy and Child and Family Treatment and Assessment.
Dr. Milhem received training at Seattle Children's Hospital, Seattle Children's Research Institute, Autism Spectrum Treatment and Research (ASTAR) Center, the University of Washington, and the Antioch University Community Clinic. She completed her internship and post doctoral training at the University of Washington CARE Clinic, specializing in autism spectrum disorders, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorders, anxiety related disorders, learning disabilities, and other neurodiverse profiles. Dr. Milhem received her doctorate in psychology from Antioch University Seattle in 2011. Her clinical experience includes early diagnostic assessments for children with developmental delays and autism spectrum disorders, comprehensive evaluations to assess for developmental challenges or learning disabilities, intervention planning and consultation, and therapy services. Additional experience includes working with parents and providing coaching to help build skills to manage difficult behaviors. Dr. Milhem’s theoretical approach is tailored for each specific client, often combining cognitive behavioral therapy, psychoeducation, skill building, and insight therapy. She feels that therapy is a collaborative process and enjoys working with parents to increase their child’s skills.
